HOW TO WIN AN OLYMPIC BID. THE STOCKHOLM 2004 OLYMPIC BID.

A few years back, I was asked by the King of Sweden, the Mayor of Stockholm and the founder of the OM Group to lead all creative work for the 2004 Stockholm Olympic bid. As we all know, this bid came second to Athens. But the marketing for Stockholm, Sweden was heralded as one of the best examples of Olympic bid city marketing and to this day, the work hangs in the Olympic Museum in Switzerland.

We created the total brand idea for Stockholm - Feel The Light. The idea was about the magic of the summer Swedish light, which is so very unique.

We created all the materials.

The one thing that in my mind really stood out was the short film which I wrote, which was directed by Anders Skoog, and which was premiered at the final IOC presentation before the vote.

Here is the film in its entirety, and I believe the first time it is visible outside the Museum.
