OBAMA DON'T STOP DEBATING
Barack Obama has, according to the NY Times, declined Hillary Clinton's invitation to a debate a week for the next month.
“I don’t think anybody is clamoring for more debates,” Mr. Obama said. “We’ve had 18 debates so far.” Mr. Obama added that he would agree to at least one debate, but noted, “It’s very important for me to spend time with voters.”
I for one am looking forward to more debates. Not only has it been the best television I've seen during the past few months, except possibly for the last 3 minutes of the Superbowl, it's about the real social and cultural issues that I care about. And there's no better way to "spend time with voters" than by answering questions side by side with your competitor in front of a live national television audience.
Keep the debates coming.
As a Canadian living in New York I cannot vote, but if I could I would probably vote for Hillary. But if you're a Obama fan, don't be sad. Many of my fellow Frogs are heavily into Barack (Ilana). For me, a big part of my decision is the substance Hillary showed in the Los Angeles debate. If Obama is going to be the nominee, and I would certainly be fine with that, then he would benefit by showing more substance, defining what exactly he would do to solve the huge issues facing the United States. With so many issues to solve and so little apathy among voters (the country is watching!!!), there is no better way to change America now than by continuing to debate key issues that engage more and more of us.
