Founder and CEO of StrawberryFrog. I spark Cultural Movements for brands.
Scott Goodson
Founder, CEO & Chief Creative Creative Officer, STRAWBERRYFROG
Once upon a time, a good son learned something of the ad game on his father’s knee. I was quick to graduate from Western University, and even quicker to hop the pond from Canada to Sweden to jumpstart my career. In 1987 my first international client Ericsson played cupid between me and a sweet muse called technology. I wrote ads for Ericsson cell phones. I knew how to tell a story and in the process became one of the main copywriters for the global Ericsson brand.
In 1991 I heard something about the ‘Internet’ through the old fashioned grape vine. I got connected and immediately recognized the Internet for what it would become: one MASSive medium for media. I became owner in Sweden of an advertising agency that focused on building brands by taking advantage of all these ever-new possibilities. I became one of the youngest partners and creative directors of a major advertising agency and in the process the company won numerous awards for effectiveness, design, international and cultural relevance.
In 1997, I moved back over the pond, and the agency he built was sold to Publicis. I then served as Executive Creative Director for JWT Canada.
In 1999, I returned to Europe to co-found StrawberryFrog, a company that would grow into the voice of a new generation of modern agencies.
Guided by spirit of his previous agency, my partners and I challenged the huge and dominating corporate agencies on a global scale. By taking advantage of new technologies to build a more lean and agile dinosaur-slaying machine, StrawberryFrog was appointed by a select group of major global clients—something unheard of until then. My vision built a creative atmosphere that sought to speak to consumers through the merging of advertising + entertainment + content + actions, today I call it Cultural Movements.™
I have worked globally for some of the world's most iconic brands such as Coca Cola, Google, Heineken, Frito Lay, Morgan Stanley, Mitsubishi Motors, Microsoft, Old Navy, and the Smart Car.
In 2007, I served as Chairman of the Global Future Marketing Summit in New York and numerous international award schemes such as the Titanium jury at Cannes and DA&D. I was also on the board of the Art Director’s Club of America and have lectured at the Cambridge University School of Business.
I am often asked to comment in business and lifestyle publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Businessweek and the New York Times.
